The Jerky Guy ® beef jerky began about twenty years ago in a backyard with a small smoker. As Jon Beltran was looking through recipes, he spied one for beef jerky. How hard could it be? Well, the first batch immediately went into the garbage. Being a proficient chef, this raised his ire more than a ruined soufflé. Thus, began a quest as to the art of jerky. He discovered the effects of marinades, smoke and heat. After several years of experimentation on many willing friends and family, he realized that he had found the perfect recipe and method. It was at this time that he approached his friend, Robert Young. Robert would bring into work, teriyaki marinated meats for dinner. It was absolutely delicious and being that Robert's family are from Hawaii, Jon immediately recognized that he had to reproduce this marinade for a teriyaki jerky. Unlike the teriyaki jerky on the market, which basically consists only of soy sauce, Jon's new recipe was a true blend of perfection. Well, after numerous obstacles and many who tried to deter him, The Jerky Guy ® Beef Jerky Company was born. His mission is that The Jerky Guy ® will produce the most incredible jerky that will ever come to the market. He has found that most beef jerky companies make the same claim, but they all ultimately taste the same. When you do try his jerky, you will eat no other.
